Editorial Policy
How content on APluscalc gets researched, written, checked, and kept up to date.
Who Publishes on APluscalc
APluscalc is built and maintained by Ahsan Ramzan, Founder & Web Developer. Calculator formulas, article research, and site content are developed in-house and checked against publicly available authoritative sources (government bodies, health organizations such as the WHO/CDC/NIH, and standard textbook formulas) before publication.
How We Research Articles
- We start from established, citable sources — government health/finance bodies, peer-reviewed research summaries, and recognized institutions (e.g. WHO, CDC, NIH, IRS, National Academies of Sciences).
- Where an article makes a specific factual or statistical claim, we link the source in a "Sources & Further Reading" section at the end of that article.
- We avoid presenting single studies or preliminary findings as settled fact, and we note where scientific or financial consensus is still evolving.
Use of AI Writing Tools
Like many small publishers, we use AI-assisted drafting tools as part of our writing process for some articles and calculator explanations. Every page is reviewed, fact-checked against sources, and edited by a human before publication. We do not publish unreviewed, fully automated content, and we do not misrepresent AI-assisted drafts as independently authored research.
How We Handle Health & Financial Topics
Calculators and articles touching health or personal finance (BMI, calorie/TDEE, pregnancy, sleep, mortgage, tax, retirement, etc.) are treated with extra care: we cite the specific formula or data source used, add a disclaimer noting the content is educational and not professional advice, and avoid making individual diagnostic or prescriptive claims. See our full Disclaimer for details.
Updates & Review
Calculator pages display a "Last updated" date. When a formula, tax bracket, or referenced guideline changes, we update the relevant page and its date. Older blog articles are periodically re-reviewed for accuracy; if you spot outdated information, please use our Corrections page to let us know.
Advertising & Editorial Independence
APluscalc may display third-party advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) to support the cost of running the site. Advertising placement never influences which calculators we build, which sources we cite, or what our articles conclude. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies work.
